Originally released in 1994 for the Sega Genesis, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 marks a major step forward in the legendary franchise. This sequel not only continues Sonic's battle against Dr. Robotnik but also introduces new gameplay elements that have become staples in the series. With a focus on speed, variety, and innovation, the game remains a fan favorite to this day.
SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3: CLASSIC SPEED, EVOLVED
In Sonic the Hedgehog 3, players take control of Sonic, Tails, or both characters as they speed through a variety of colourful and trap-filled zones. The game’s side-scrolling action challenges players to jump, spin, and dash through six sprawling zones, each packed with enemies, hidden rings, and tricky terrain.
Each zone consists of two acts and ends with a boss fight—either against Dr.Robotnik (aka Eggman) or one of his robotic creations. Along the way, players collect golden rings, which act as both a score system and a defence mechanism. If you lose all your rings and receive a hit, you're out.
